William Kane

Managing Consultant

William S. Kane is a Human resources executive with a demonstrated record as a functional head, advisor to the CEO and internal consultant. He has a particular expertise in organizational redesign and development through partnering with senior management to align a company's strategic business objectives with bottom-line performance indicators, workforce climate and productivity, change management initiatives and talent attraction and engagement. His results-oriented style has been gained from significant experience and impact in multi-national, fast-paced and demanding environments - including profitable “turnarounds” and major acquisitions.

Having started his progressive career at a supervisory level on the factory floor, Bill most recently served as Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in New York. Reporting to the Chairman and CEO, Bill led a staff of 75 during a period of corporate-wide transformation that supported over 7,000 employees in 40 countries. In addition to the flavors and fragrances industries, Bill has experience with the leading provider of television news to an educational subscriber base, global appliance manufacturing, a leading chemical supplier, and manufacturers of computer systems and applications for military, industrial and commercial use. The companies have ranged in sales volume from $220 million to $16 billion.

Active in both professional and community organizations, Bill is a member of the Board of Directors and Co-President of the New Jersey Chapter for the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment (IACPR), and formerly served as that group's Treasurer/Secretary. He is a member of the Human Resources Executive Forum (N.Y.), the New Jersey Human Resources Planning Group, and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Bill is an Advisory Board member at Stamford Ridge Technology Partners and General Ideas, Inc.

Bill is a past Board member of the Edison (NJ) Chamber of Commerce where he was honored as their “1995 Business Person of the Year,” and served as a Board Member of the Township's Business Development Council. In addition, Bill has been a member of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association's Economic Development Council. Bill has also been involved with the American Heart Association, serving as Chairman of the 1995 Middlesex County (NJ) Walk-A-Thon and the American Cancer Society. He is a former mentor in the nationally recognized programs for Women Unlimited, Inc., and has been active in coaching Little League and as an alumni advisor.

Bill's perspective on matters of corporate responsibility and Human Resources has been featured in USA Today, National Business Employment Weekly, and The Financial Times. He has also appeared at New Jersey gubernatorial press conferences, state congressional hearings, various forums sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Labor, and the New Jersey Network on related matters.

A proponent of life-long learning, Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers College (1981). In addition, he holds a Master of Business Administration in Management (1987), and a Master of Arts in Industrial Psychology (1997) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is currently studying for his Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems at the Fielding Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California.
